Quality control of Moroccan Argan oils
Exploiting spectroscopic techniques to assess quality of argan oils in Marocco.
The purpose of the present project consists in exploiting spectroscopic techniques: near-infrared (NIR), mid-infrared (MIR) and Raman spectroscopy combined with chemometrics for the authentication of Argan oils collected from different regions of the south of Morocco. The same approach is also applied to discriminate high quality Argan oil from Argan oils adulterated by cheaper vegetable oils. The goal of the project is to develop a fast and reagent-less method for the quality control of Argan oils.
