His research aims to clarify the role of genetic risk and environmental factors implicated diabetes and identify the tissue-specific molecular mechanisms and pathways. In this context, he uses computational and bioinformatics approaches to multi-omics datasets in order to fine map the diabetes associated variants and link them to their functional effect. He also uses multi-tissue datasets to identify the specific tissues in which these variants exert their effect. In addition, he has developed several novel bioinformatics methods to advance this field of research.
